Frequently asked questions

Plain-language answers about expenses, money owed to you, reminders, and privacy.

General questions

Piiply is an online service for everyday expense tracking and payment commitments, including money others owe you and money you owe. It helps with due dates, recording payments, reminders, and simple summaries, with multiple currencies, without juggling complicated spreadsheets.

Piiply offers flexible pricing plans to suit different needs, from individuals to businesses. Contact us at support@piiply.com to learn more about our pricing options and find the plan that works best for you.

Piiply is available in English and Portuguese. You can change the language in your profile; your choice is remembered for next time.

Features and functionality

Piiply sends email reminders when it makes sense: before a due date, when something becomes overdue, when you record a payment, and when important details change. If your mobile number is on the account, you may also get messages there. The service avoids sending the same alert too many times.

You can use dozens of currencies; exchange rates update automatically so totals stay consistent. Choose your main currency in your profile and amounts are shown in a clear format.

Yes. You can record money others owe you and money you need to pay (suppliers, loans, open bills, and similar). Each record can include a name, contact, amount, due date, notes, and payment history. The dashboard shows both sides clearly.

You can download your data in a file that opens in a spreadsheet app (for example Excel or similar) for archiving or offline review. You can apply filters before exporting.

Security and trust

Yes. Piiply uses a secure connection to the service, keeps each account's data separate from others, and follows sensible protection practices. Sign-in uses a code sent to your email (and optionally your phone) instead of a password you must remember. No online service is risk-free: keep your email secure and do not share codes with others.

Piiply is a progressive web app, usually called a PWA. In everyday words, it is the same online service, set up so it can feel and behave like an app on your phone or tablet.

You can add Piiply to your home screen from your browser’s menu (the same kind of shortcut you use for other sites). When you open it from that icon, it often opens full screen and day-to-day use is very close to a downloaded app, without using an app store.

On iPhone, because of how the system works, the only way to get on-device notifications from this service is to use Piiply through that home-screen shortcut after you add it. Using it only as a normal browser tab does not give you the same alerts on the phone.

The main channel is email: support@piiply.com. Describe your question and the team will reply as soon as possible. The home page and this FAQ include helpful product information.

Account and access

Go to the sign-in page and enter your email. You will receive a 6-digit code by email. Enter that code and your account is created automatically the first time.

Piiply does not use passwords. Whenever you need to sign in, request a new verification code. Each code is valid for 15 minutes.

One account per email address. If you need separate workspaces (for example personal and business), you can use different email addresses.

After you sign in for the first time, Piiply asks for your full name and primary currency. Without this information, some features stay unavailable. It usually takes less than a minute.

Yes, in your profile settings. If you add a number, you can also receive access codes and some notifications by WhatsApp.

Expenses and money owed to you

Use the option to create a new record (from the menu or add button). Say whether you owe the payment or someone owes you, then enter the person or company name, amount, a short note, and optionally the due date and contact details.

Yes. When you create the record, you indicate that you are the one who owes the payment. That way expenses and money owed to you live in one place.

You can classify the record as an individual (friend, family, client) or a business (company, supplier). This is only to help you stay organized.

Yes, you can edit the name, contact, description, and due date at any time. The only field you cannot change after payments exist is the total amount, to protect the integrity of your financial history.

The status becomes Overdue and you get an alert. If you saved the other party's contact, they may get a reminder too, depending on your settings.

Yes. If it no longer applies (for example forgiven or settled another way), you can cancel it and note why. The other party may get a notice depending on your configuration.

On the record detail page, use the button to record a payment. Enter the amount and date; the remaining balance updates automatically.

The status becomes Paid. The record stays in your history for reference but no longer counts as open.

Shareable links

It is a unique web address you can send to the other person. When they open it, they see a read-only summary (amount, how much was paid, how much is left, and status) without creating a Piiply account.

No. The link is read-only. They can only view the information, not modify it.

It reduces misunderstandings. Instead of debating amounts in chat, you send the link and the other person sees exactly what is on record, clearly and transparently.

Notifications (guide)

  • Reminder when a due date is approaching
  • Reminder when something becomes overdue
  • Confirmation when you record a payment
  • Simple weekly summary (when available on the channel you choose)

Yes, if you saved their email or phone on the record. Messages are sent on behalf of your account, for example near the due date or when you update the record.

In your profile settings, under the Notifications tab. You can disable push alerts without affecting email, and vice versa.

Yes, if you added a mobile number. The system tries WhatsApp first and, if that is not possible, sends email.

Dashboard and reports

Four quick indicators: total open (money owed to you), total paid this month, how many records are overdue, and total you owe. Below that you see what is due this week and simple charts over recent months.

Yes. At the top of the dashboard and list there is a date range selector so you only see the period you care about.

In the main list there is an option to download a file you can open in a spreadsheet app (for example Excel or similar).

Security and privacy (guide)

Yes. Only you see your records. Piiply does not sell your list to others for advertising.

No. Your data is used only to provide the service.

Yes. Contact support and your account and all related data will be permanently deleted.
